About Sue Hadden

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience working both in private practice and within the emergency services.

Throughout my career, I have supported individuals and couples through a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, always with care, compassion, and respect.

I believe that therapy works best when you feel comfortable, understood, and able to be yourself. My role is to support you in exploring what is happening for you, helping you gain clarity and work towards the changes you would like to make.

Sue’s Approach

The relationship between therapist and client is at the heart of effective therapy. It is important that you feel safe, supported, and able to trust the person you are working with.

Our initial consultation gives you the opportunity to meet me as a person, not just read about my qualifications. This space allows you to decide whether I feel like the right therapist for you, and whether the way I work feels right for your needs.

As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I tailor therapy to each individual. I draw on person-centred, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioural approaches, working collaboratively with you at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable.

Professional Experience & Background

Alongside my core counselling and psychotherapy training, I have undertaken extensive professional development throughout my career.

I am also an EMDR therapist, specialising in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy. EMDR is an evidence-based approach particularly effective in working with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and phobias.

My experience across different settings allows me to work thoughtfully and flexibly, always guided by your needs and goals.
